Washington, 6 January (IANS) According to media sources, an Alaska Airlines aircraft destined for California had to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff from Portland, Oregon, after a window on the plane burst. The Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737-9 Max took off at 4:52 p.m. on Friday and returned to Portland 20 minutes later, according to Xinhua.

Looking at the photographs we obtained on Google, we noticed that a substantial portion of the fuselage and a window were gone. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 returned safely to Portland International Airport after "the crew reported a pressurization problem," according to CNN.

The emergency landing was verified by both Portland International Airport and Alaska Airlines. Flight 1282 from Portland to Ontario, California, was also involved in an incident, according to Alaska Airlines. "The aircraft landed safely at Portland International Airport with 171 guests and six crew members on board," the airline stated in a statement.
